A couple from the Road

Less than two months away from the Chopper Campout in Copperopolis. I think we saw the last of the rain the other day (maybe) so get your bedrolls ready for may 18th.

A Couple from the Road

Our good friend Jason, rode down from Sonora too for the Love party, but went a different route through Vegas and then down the 93. He left a day later and got stuck in a snow storm. A couple from his trip:

Flashback: march 5th, 2013

So I had reached the bottom of my to do list for the ride out to Arizona, when I finally jumped on the bike for a test ride. Buzzing down the road, finally into 4th, and I got this weird vibration. Familiar, but I couldn't place it before my float bowl on my SU got stuck down, and I stuttered to a stop, out of gas.
Thankfully Josh happened to be driving by and towed me back to the clubhouse to investigate. Baby Clint spotted it first: I had broken my frame in two places! Shit, my trip to Arizona flashed before my eyes. As my mind was spinning for ideas, we put it on the lift to stare at the problem eye to eye. After a couple minutes of stress, we decided to cut off my seat bracket, sleeve my entire seat post from the top down, and plug weld it up in 5 different places. Sure enough, 45 minutes later, we had the problem fixed.
Its now currently the strongest place on bike! Arizona, here we come...

Homeward bound: Days 5 & 6

After taking a couple hours to ride the 70 miles back to Phoenix from the lake, we all sat and relaxed up for the next leg of our journey in the morning.
Sun was shining and daylight was ticking by as we left for Santa Paula Monday morning. 100 miles into our trip, Marty's motor came to an abrupt end, with a huge cloud of black smoke. This was not a good sign considering his bike leaked and smoked less than both mine and Wolfs!
With no time to spare, and beers, dinner and beds waiting for us, Wolf and I pushed west.
Tuesday morning was our final stretch and only 350 miles separated us from home. The remaining bikes ran great, the weather was warm, and the chopper gods forced a slip of the throttle before every cop! Great trip, great stories and great friends.

One good trip

Love Party

After our relaxing rain day, we geared up and left for the lake first thing (12pm!) Saturday morning. Great ride up, and the snow level was just above our heads as we rode in.
Huge thanks to Jeremiah and his family and the crew that helped put this event together. It was a great trip out, awesome party, and we're not even quite home yet!

Rain Day

Our original plan was to head to the campsite on Friday, but the rain was intense all day. Our buddy Jason was trying to meet up with us as well, but said it was snowing like a mother fucker when he went through Kingman. He even passed a snowplow on his chopper. So we broke open the ice chest and the tattoo gun, and waited for the storm to pass.

Fuck My Life

Arizona Bound (what the fuck were we thinking) day 2

There's nothing like riding WITHOUT a rain suit on! The short days are sometimes dangerous when it comes to keeping a time schedule. Long gas stops, break downs filled with mostly harassment, and a mindset of "we're almost there". We did finally make it to Phoenix, and before nightfall! A quick parts search, thanks Jeremiah, and we were back to Levi's for welding, wrenching, drinking and more harassment.
