Yesterday afternoon I was able to tear the heads off the shovel, and after a quick inspection, things looked a little bit better than first expected. The culprit for my smoke and oil burning was actually a bad head gasket. 

I called Pat and headed up to his shop for a second opinion. 

Just looks goofy 

"Hey Pat. Did you see that there's a fire across the road from your shop?"

Fire season isn't quite over yet...

Cool knuckle getting some work at Pats. Owner was up in Groveland for the annual vintage meet.
