A couple from the other night

Its finally bonfire weather! At least it was for Friday night at the shop. Had some friends over for a BBQ and drinks at the shop and got a chance to light the first bonfire of the season. Saturdays ride was in Tshirts, go figure, and Sunday it was almost 80F again!

World Series game 2

I don't know what you're doing for the game tonight, and personally I don't care, it's none of my business. But I hope that at least one of your local or national media outlets post something about Marine Cpl. Nicholas Kimmel throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of game two. Cpl. Kimmel is a triple amputee and Afghanistan War veteran, who was joined on the mound by Willie Mays, who himself took two years off from baseball to serve in the Korean War, 1952-1953.

Luxembourg

Beer of the Rogues in Luxembourg the other day.

A couple of months ago, I was in Luxembourg with the Rogues and Beer, and almost as soon as we crossed off of the shitty roads of Belgium and onto the nicely paved asphalt of Luxembourg, I got a flat tire. Thankfully a truck and cold beers awaited us as soon as we got to the campground. Also got to finally meet Andreas of the Harley Brothers, who ownes two of Jeremiah's custom built choppers. Nice to see the great craftsmanship of Love Cycles halfway around the world!

Beer, save me some Ricard!

Wrench Magazine

Got our hands on a couple copies of the new Wrench magazine. And its actually pretty cool. I know almost all of our shops and garages have at least a couple copies of old Easyriders floating around in them, and this has got to be one of the best things about this magazine: its just like an old Easyrider!
It even has a Mitch Cotie painting in it as the centerfold, which is fucking awesome, and also has an old reprinted article or two in it from the original Easyriders.
Pretty cool magazine, I think it will need to be added to the monthly reading list.

And maybe the Chum brigade will make it to our party next time?!?

A couple from the road.

Weather has been really nice lately, and looks like it might hold out for just a little longer. Last weekend those of us that were around, made it out for a bitchin ride and party up in the mountains.

This is what my life has been missing!

After I picked the bike up in Oakland I quickly tried to rack my brain and figure out what exactly needs to be fixed from the long adventure across the pond. There were some obvious things: regulator, battery and primary drive. But as I searched the bike over, there were some surprises too, like a broken tranny stud, missing mirror and so on. It's was also nice remembering all the good times we had over there. The hose clamp on my exhaust, been there since Germany, and someone asking me where I got my rear tire, "got that guy in Luxembourg".
After I got it started and did a couple quick miles down the highway, it was time to get over to the swap meet for the early birds Friday evening. It brought back a huge smile to my face as I took the long way up, with my bag on the sissy bar, as this was the way it was for 3 months while we zig zagged across Europe.
Yes, this is what I needed!

Swap Meet!

Well it snowed last year, and this year we of course had a little heat wave come through. Not a huge deal though, as we had 6 kegs there for the thirsty! We sold out of the bottomless mugs, broke out the new hats (finally), and also sold a bunch of the swap meet shirts. Kept everyone fed with chili dogs or bacon cheese burgers, with locally grown heirloom tomatoes and grilled onions! Huge thanks to Blue Oak Farm for the veggies and Marty and Todd for manning the grill all day.
Also a huge thanks to everyone who showed up, and to the vendors, see you all next year!
