SWAP MEET

This is just an update on the event for saturday. Despite snow flurries yesterday, its sunny and much warmer today, and the weather for saturday is going to be even better, 60's and sunny. Everything is going to go as planned, setup between 6am-8am, and doors opening at 8am. BBQ, beer, and music will also be happening throughout the day.
Camping: Lots of room, but the best spots are going to be in the grass, which might still be damp come saturday night. Bring a tarp and you'll be fine.
Hotels: There are a few about 3 miles west on hwy 108 from the event.
Best Western, 19551 Hess Avenue, Sonora - (209) 533-4400
Aladdin Motor Inn, 14260 Mono Way, Sonora - (209) 533-4971
Easy directions: Take HWY 108 east, past the Sonora exits. 108 will merge with Mono Way, continue east and look for signs. Approx 6 miles past Sonora.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend, lets party!

For some reason the program we use to update the website is not working. We're trying to figure that out right now so we can take the old Swap Meet address off of there. The address is still ESTES CUSTOMS 20159 HWY 108 SONORA CA 95370

I know now why men who have been to war yearn to reunite. Not to tell stories or look at old pictures. Not to laugh or weep upon one another's knee. Comrades gather because they long to be with men who once acted their best, men who suffered and sacrificed, who were stripped raw, right down to their humanity.
I did not pick these men. They were delivered by fate and the U.S. Marine Corps. But I know them in a way I know no other men. I have never since given anyone such trust. They were willing to guard something more precious than my life. They would have carried my reputation, the memory of me. It was part of the bargain we all made, the reason we were so willing to die for one another.
