Last Days in the Midwest

Sunday morning we made our way back to Minneapolis. After a relaxing night (for most of us) we woke up the next morning to fresh snow. We all met up for breakfast, and then it was off to Spencer's tattoo shop for some tattoos before our flight back west.

Back in Minneapolis

Sioux City

Saturday morning came early, and we all quickly made our way to the warehouse/bar where the memorial service was. A huge line greeted us when we arrived, and the 9F temperature made for a real unpleasant wait!the sun was out, but you couldn't tell it was doing anything from where we were standing.
Inside, it was packed shoulder to shoulder with clubs and friends from all over, paying their respects to one of the best.

Heading out

Enjoying the cold

Good friends Jeremiah from Love Cycles, and Max from Oakland with Moose.

Myself harassing Josh and Brian. The three of us have been riding together for 10 years now. Not together all the time, but together when it matters!

Sioux City Bound

After we gathered the rest of the crew, we loaded up, cranked the heaters (climbed into sleeping bags if you were Wolf and Gus), and headed south towards Sioux City.
Long drive, but great night hanging out with friends.

Minneapolis Bound

Last weekend, a couple of us made the flight from California to Minneapolis to attend the memorial service of Tom Fugle.
We landed in Minnesota and then made the drive south to Sioux City with some of the El Forastero. Cold winds. Great friends. And awesome stories, were had during the weekend. Here's the first part of our journey.

Chopper Freaks MC

Stole these from the Chopper Freaks blog. Jonathan and Wolf stayed with these guys up in Norway when they were on their European tour. Really nice guys, nice bikes, and a super nice clubhouse. Put them on your bucket list!

New Year's eve bonfire, New Year's Day ride

New Year's eve we were able to pile up a huge bonfire and light it up to bring in the new year.

Next morning a couple of us bundled up to bare the cold for a very short New Year's Day ride. A high of 42°F/5°C, made it for a fun one!

I first stop after getting gas, was to Jamestown to the rawhide saloon for a hot coffee, hot beer, and a hot tri tip sandwich.
