Progress

Was able to dedicate a little time between "Real" work yesterday. Got the two mounting plates cut out and drilled.

This took a little longer than I expected being that the tabs are 1" thick.

Brackets drilled

Once I mocked everything up I realized that these brackets were going to need to be welded together towards the tops of the down turned bends. No big deal, and when I go to mock them up for final assembly, it will be a lot easier.

While some of us were in GV, Josh was down in Santa Cruz at the Ghosties party winning the burnout competition. More photos to come...

Evo Chopper Progress

Evo what the fuck?! Well a good friend of mine was selling his evo chopper that he built about 10 years ago, for a price I couldn't pass up. It didn't need anything at all, but we all know how that goes, gotta change something on it!
On the list is mid pegs, and sissy bar. Sissy bar means changing the rear fender, but that's ok. This bike was already super comfortable and I am going for a little different look, so here's the progress for building some mid/Frisco floor board mounts. Almost an oxymoron I know...

This is the idea. Ran out of time yesterday to get anything else done on them, but I'm happy with how they're turning out. Even if it is for an evo!
Hopefully can get the mounting tabs, final bends and holes drilled in them today.

Happy 40th Gus

A couple of us made it up to grass valley over the weekend to celebrate Gus's birthday with him. Great party, and good weather. Unfortunately, it came at a cost. On the way up 49, a truck in front of Jason lost control and ended up taking him out. He spent the majority of the afternoon in the hospital, but was released with road rash in time for the rest of the party. The bikes front end was totaled, but he survived without any major injury.

Family Affair

I only have a few memories of my dad being in the MC. I cant say that I wish I had more. From the sounds of it, it was a pretty scary time.

This is my mom, dad and uncle on a run. The VW in this photo was blown up in our front yard of the same house in the photo below. And not engine blown up. It was planted with a bomb with intention killing my dad and/or his family. The person who planted it must have done something wrong because it detonated for know apparent reason. Luckily no body was hurt.

Dads bike and cut. Not sure the year. 1979 or 80

Happy Ending

Rufio has his bike back, thanks to mass social media outpouring. Pretty cool. Found it, minus the bags, keys and some other stuff. Can't be too bummed about that. Now back to the weekend!

Stolen Bike

Bikes get stolen all the time. There is never a shortage of assholes in the world, that's for sure. But not always do they belong to a man truly living the nomad biker lifestyle. We met Rufio several years ago in Arizona at the Love Cycles Campout. Rad dude, Marine, and living life behind the bars!
Anyway, his bike was last seen headed north on Atlantic in Daytona Florida. Handicapped California plates. Any info call: 915-313-1631

Our Viking Friends

Stole this from the Chopper Freaks MC blog. These guys have a badass shop, bar, lounge, hotel, clubhouse in southern Norway. Wolf and Jonathan got to stay there for about a week after they got done visiting another Norwegian club, Rabalder MC. Both clubs live in old Viking towns along the North Sea.
