Arizona Bound, day 1

We left Sonora with the intention of riding OUT of the storm, but apparently the storm had different ideas. Rain for most of the trip south until we finally made it out of the Tehachapi's and into Mojave. Cold, but dry, we blasted across the desert and then cut into San Bernardino. The entire valley smelled like fast food, delicious, but we still had some miles to do before we could call it quits. So we drooled all the way to Indio that night and took turns guarding the truck at a "nice looking" motel 6.

Once upon a time...

... in France, I happen to destroy a throw out bearing. We lacked the required parts to make a proper fix, so Yvon and another guy welded a little nub on my clutch pushrod end, trapping the hardened washers which now acted as my throw out bearing. And on we went!
The other day I was searching through my vest pockets and came across a brand new throw out bearing which we had ordered back in Holland, about nine months and 7500 miles ago. Oops.
Well, I finally got the new one in there, and I will be honest, that trick is a good one, maybe a little too good!

The road from Chimay to Antwerp

I might have posted something about this earlier, but I ran across some photos on Michels blog and it made me laugh.
It really was some of the shittiest weather I had the entire trip, and I remember just riding and thinking "when are we gonna get there". The worst part was I had no idea where we were!
Of course the SU carb had to fuck up on the side of the highway. But thankfully I kept those exact tools close by me at all times! We finally arrived and it really did take my shit two days to dry out.
