Finally we hit the road and headed up into the mountains. Although the sun was out, the temperature was dropping every foot we climbed up.

Southbound

Due to weather, that actually never showed up, we ended up driving down to Santa Paula to unload bikes and stash the truck. We arrived late, of course, and quickly packed up the bikes as the sun was setting. Although we were in Southern California, it was damn cold!

The rest of the ride to Cary's house was too cold to pull out the camera. We were greeted by old friends and freshly BBQ'd ribs and chicken. Cold beers and a warm fire, perfect way to end the first night.

Mock Up

Finally got everything drilled, cleaned up, and bolted into place. Looks good. I'll need to pull the fender off again and weld up all the extra holes.

Spent quite a bit of time with the die grinder rounding out the sissy bar welds on the inside of the square stock. After a while it was looking pretty good.

Finally done and ready for mock up on the bike.

Shovel Progress

100 trips to the hardware store later and I finally bolted some shit on the bike. I'll be back for more tomorrow.

Matt from DicE

As some of you might have heard, Matt had been suffering from a bout with cancer. This morning he finally left this side of the road and traveled to the other side. Matt and Dean had been a huge amount of support for the Deathtraps since day one. Though we had grown apart over the past years, there was never a party or a ride that went by, when we didn't reminisce about the good old days of riding our choppers to a DicE release party. We love you Matt, you will be missed.

Shop Workday

Saturday we were able to make some good progress on the clubhouse portion of the shop. Now we just need to fuck it up again!

Help Vince

We recently found out a friend of ours, Vince, has cancer. Vince is one of those dudes who lives life wide open, the one with epic stories of adventure when we are kicking in around the campfire on motorcycle runs or parties. He's an awesome human, dad, skater, biker, and most importantly friend. He needs our help now trying to beat this thing. He's not one to ask for help, but his illness has kept him from working, so now he needs some.

Actually the address is right there, but you get the idea. Never made it to this show, but we've been lucky to make quite a few of the Rogues party's throughout the past couple of years. Maybe some of them will make it to our 10 year...
