GOLDENCHAIN RUN 2016, BELDEN 7

OK, here is the schedule and route for run next weekend, September 2-4. Leave from Sonora, or from wherever you are if you can't meet us at the clubhouse, and head to Grass Valley. The destination in GV is:

This is the place we will all be headed to from Sonora. If you are headed to Sonora, there might be an early pack and a late pack headed north on 49. Early would be around 3, and late would be after work, around 5. If neither of these times work for you, just meet us in Grass Valley.

Saturday morning we will all head north on 49, and then through Quincy, and finally into the Feather River Canyon, ending in Belden.

Belden 7 & Goldenchain Run 2016

The Goldenchain Run will once again end in Belden, where the rest of the party will be happening. Lots of people will ride straight there, so if you can't meet up with us on the road, meet us in Belden!

GCR: September 2-4. Leaving Sonora friday afternoon from the clubhouse, headed to Grass Valley. We're waiting on one last detail before we get the address for the meeting spot. We plan on being in GV around 6 or 7pm.

OK, so here is our updated schedule for the GCR this year: Meeting up at the clubhouse in Sonora Friday afternoon on September 2, and leaving Sonora around 3pm or 4pm. Obviously leaving on a Friday makes it hard for people to get time off of from work, but it won't be a huge pack ride from Sonora to GV. The pack from GV hopefully will include all the late night arrivals, and stragglers from work.

Leave Grass Valley Saturday morning and head up 49, almost to the end, and then head down the Feather River Canyon to Belden. Simple as that.

We will update you one more time on the meet up spot in GV. We know where we're staying, we just can't post the address online! Most likely we will meet up in downtown at one of the bars and then ride all together into camp. This will be good for people who are coming from the bay, or sac and want to skip the first leg of 49. Even though we don't recommend that!

Goldenchain Run is coming up, Labor Day weekend. Friday leaving from Sonora, headed north on this state's beloved highway 49. First stop (not sure yet, maybe Grass Valley), and then ending once again in Belden to join up with that crew. Here's a sneak peak to the shirt/flyer from Mitch:

Well now that everyone has forgotten about how horrible it was, we can now remind you all of the good times we had ripping up 49 together. Here is a couple from Holly, our resident photosuperwoman, and here's a link to the rest of the TRIP she did.

Coloma to Belden, day 2

The cold night next to the river got MOST people up early and off to the nearest eatery down the street in downtown Coloma. This timeline put us back on the bikes and the Goldenchain at a good time. Good thing because Belden is a good 5-6 hour ride north without one straight section!

Not sure why, but I failed to get one photo until we were north of Nevada city. 

Downieville for food, gas and of course a couple cold ones.

GOLDEN CHAIN RUN!

Only a couple days away now. So we've got almost everything ready for the ride, including some run shirts from the always badass Mitch Cotie. Our site at Rivers Bend Resort in Coloma is also reserved, and people as far as Holland and Idaho are on the road headed our way.
One last heads up:
Thursday night: Mariposa, Alley Bar
Friday morning: Leave mid morning headed north on 49. Destination Sonora
Friday afternoon: Lunch at clubhouse 346 west jackson st sonora ca 95370 Coloma bound early afternoon.
Friday night: Camping at Rivers Bend Resort on 49. Food and drink options are available in Coloma, including BBQ pits at camp site.
Saturday: Head north on 49, final destination is Belden. Gas/lunch in Grass Valley/Nevada City, another gas stop Bassetts Station, and final gas stop Quincy.
Saturday night: Enjoy!
And just another reminder: this isn't a pack run. Split up into groups you feel comfortable riding with. There will be plenty of cops on the road this weekend, so save your money for some booze and a shirt!

Golden Chain Run 2015, September 4-7

OK, here it is: we're not doing our annual party in Copperopolis this year, for no other reason than we wanted to change it up a little. So we decided to do a run up highway 49, from Mariposa, camping in Coloma along the river, and then ending in Beldon for the Beldon Town party.
We're not taking over Beldon, we're just organizing a run up the foothills, open for anyone who wants to join us. There are already people meeting us along the way, and thats fine too.
The plan is to leave Mariposa Friday morning, September 4th, to Coloma. People will be camping and hanging out at the Alley Bar, in downtown Thursday night. Depending on the number of people who are showing up on Thursday, we might just camp on the river instead.
Friday we will head north along the Golden Chain Highway, through Sonora and Placerville, and ending in Coloma for camping, BBQ, and drinks.
The plan as of now, is we will bring the BBQ, and you supply your meat, or food preference. Saturday morning is pretty straight forward, continuing onward, through Grass Valley, and then up into the mountains, and finally into the Feather River Canyon, and then Beldon.
Simply put, a run, not a pack run, up highway 49, camping, fun, drinks, and friends. More info on campsites will come soon!
